In this challenge we start up with a married couple who does need to be immortal. My couple will be the Robinsons.
They don't look too happy here well lets get a better look at them.
The wife is Valencia Robinson and her traits are:
Bookworm, Brave, Friendly, Green Thumb and Neat. Her lifetime wish will be the Perfect Garden and her Career and Skill for Sunset Valley will be gardening. Valencia is a witch.
Ok lets see if we can get these two into university and get that over with first.
This is who we were waiting for! Now lets take the test.
Logan goes first as Valencia is practicing her magic.
Not too good, let us see if Valencia has better luck.
She did even worse on the score but she does have +6 in Science and Medicine. Ok we have only $2,270 after they purchased the Monotone house in Sunset Valley. I sold their camera's, the Into the Future Time Portal, sold the university basket and checked for gifts (thank you to pinksparkles3475 who sent me $3,500 in one gift and to Littleminxundr who sent me $500 in another, that came in handy) which gives up a grand total of $8750, still not enough.
Not a problem Logan is going out to hunt! We will have the money.
After we consigned some gems that Logan found we now have a grand total of 11,291 so we are going to university first thing the next morning.
First we will send Valencia to fulfill 2 wants of taking a Science and Gardening Class and Logan wants to take the Science class too so I will send him next.
Valencia starts working on her garden as she needs that skill.
Logan's skill for Sunset Valley is Athletics but he will be able to develop other skills. I won't direct him to build other skills but if he rolls a want to improve a different skill, needs to make a repair and of course cook food he is allowed to. If he happens to improve his skill while doing another activity, well that makes it easier for me when we move and I concentrate on that skill.
While Valencia cleans up Logan makes the phone call to enroll in University.
Logan's first degree will be in Physical Education.
Valencia will be majoring in Science and Medicine.
Gee Logan couldn't you have at least offered to be a gentleman and carry the suitcase for her.
Looks like they will be dragging their belongings all the way to University.

First Day of Class for Valencia. Here is her class schedule for the term:
Why is it that these university students always set a fire whenever I live in a dorm, frat house and sorority? Valencia is safe at class but where is Logan when this is happening?
Sleeping or just being awoken by the fire alarm.
Well his first class is at 4 PM so he can sleep in if he wants.
I'm glad I gave him the brave trait as he will try and put out the fire instead of freaking out.
Fire is out and the firefighter is angry. Could it be because Logan did his job for him?
Or could it be because he thinks Logan should be more careful next time?
Or could it be because he has the hots for Logan's wife?
At least he recognizes that Logan did a good job putting the fire out.
At least Logan received some extra funding this will come in handy. I'll send Valencia next.
Next day of classes is lectures and Valencia may be taking notes but there is a good reason she is confused and there is a good reason for that girl next to her sleeping.
No one is teaching the class!
Tuesday is class activity day for Logan and hmmmmm who is that behind him?
It's Mugsy! This may not be Going Solo but we still have Mugsy sightings to report.
Later on that night........
we receive an uninvited guest.
I guess the dorm doesn't have a bugular alarm as he got in easy enough. My sims didn't buy anything in the dorm so no biggie. Ok we won't make it easy for him anyways the problem is...
My brave sim is not in the dorm he is working out in the gym.
Ok Valencia it is up to you get out of bed and call the police.
Lets see what dorm mate Derek Khan will do because......
Valencia has still not called the police.
I think she figured out something is wrong now hopefully she will call the police.
Good job Valencia now let us check on Derek.
It looks like Derek kicked some ass and it was a good thing he did because.....
the Cops couldn't get him.
Since the Robinson's have to supply the dorm with a burglar alarm I had Valencia apply for extra funding and she did better than her husband.
Well in all fairness the Robinson's didn't earn this money so let us put the funding into the dorm. We bought a burglar alarm,
An Ice Cream Maker, Deep Fryer and.....
we upgraded the beds, now everyone in the dorm benefits from the extra funding.
Part of this challenge is to read all the book in game and there are 300. Valencia did finish reading "Accumlating Orgone with the Wind" only 299 more to go!
This may not be as hard as I thought it would, Logan picked up and started reading this one on his own.
Looks like both of them did well on their exams but they still have more time at University. However I decided that the weekend would be time that they spend together with each other to have fun and they certainly did earn their break.
Here is our couple starting their Saturday waiting in front of the movie theatre to start their day together.
After the movie a picnic in the park.
They decided to play with the kicky bag for a little while.
The Bowling Alley was the next stop.
Some romantic time together when the get home.
Which turned out to be a fun date for the week. :)
Today is Sunday so I am letting them get a couple of the wants they wished for. Logan wants to workout for 4 hours.
Valencia rolled a want to improve the science skill.
Valencia wanted to buy an alchemy station and learn the alchemy skill.
Logan rolled a want to train a sim and get fairy dust which I think Wade over here can help us with both.
The invisible professor is still teaching Valencia's class.
Is it any wonder that they are all sleeping?

Well the first week was sort of a repeat of the last so I fast forwarded a lot but this is how it ended up. Valencia took her finals first and she passed with flying colors.
She needed a break and she wanted to get some nerd influence so I sent her to the comic book shop to play some video games.
he made an impression on the professor. Good work Logan so its time for both of them to have some fun.
Logan asks Valencia to go on a date with him which she of course agrees to.
They went to Sim Burger for Dinner, seen a movie and then to the coffee house.

they head on off to bed for the evening.
The Grades are in this morning and I wonder why Logan has that look on his face. Are the grades really that bad?
Nope couldn't be that as their grades are actually very good but what could it be?
I guess maybe its because this looks pretty painful to me. (Sorry for the walls being down it was the only way I could get the shot.)
Time to go home and Logan is still making Valencia carry their luggage!
Chivalry is dead for sure.
While at home on break they work on their chosen Sunset Valley skills while they wait for the money from the Tiberium to be sold.
Logan maxed Athletics now all we need are the skill challenges and his career and he is finished with his skill.
Valencia hasn't maxed Gardening yet but she finished a skill challenge.
After the money comes in from the Tiberium the house is renovated. This is the new and improved version of the Monotone. Here is the slideshow.

This looks fun. Not sure I need to take on another challenge, but it looks fun. :) I've never had my sims apply for extra funding at school before, I totally forgot that was an option. Good luck with their next round of college. Maybe they can rent a private house instead of the dorms if they have enough cash. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is turning out to be a fun challenge and I do enjoy playing that save. When you play with rich families as we have been we forget that we do have that option to ask for funds. These guys were in need of the money so I definitely sent them. I did have enough money to get them a house but I decided to finish the first degree with them living in the dorms. For their next degree I probably will get them a house.
DeleteLoved the first part of this. They're off to a great start. This really is a fun challenge, as we both know. So glad they got some extra cash to help them out. Yeah, the dorms, frat house, and sorority house get really nasty and gross so I tend to go for the private house if they can afford it. Lenora and Tyrone are glad to have their own place for sure. Loved the slideshow of the new and improved Monotone. Good luck with them finishing their degrees. Can't wait to see what's next. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this challenge and it really is so much fun. I decided the dorms were better for them I locked off their room so no one enters it and its a good way for them to make some friends while they are there. I actually cannot wait to get back into this challenge and continue on with their skill challenges.
